Mundi Ventures participates in THEKER Robotics’ $21m Seed Round

July 15, 2025

Today, the global venture capital firm, Mundi Ventures, via its fund with Inditex, disclosed its participation in THEKER Robotics’ $21m Seed Round - the largest seed round ever raised in Spain and one of the most significant early-stage investments in the European robotics sector to date. The round was led by Kibo Ventures, with participation from Kfund (via Leadwind), JME, Itnig, Mission, s16vc, and a group of prominent angels and strategic investors.

Based in Barcelona, THEKER was founded by Jiaqiang Ye Zhu and Carla Gómez Cano, both experienced robotics engineers. The company has developed a unique technology that enables its robots to operate in complex and heterogeneous industrial environments without the need for reprogramming. This is made possible through a vision and control system based on deep learning. Its real-time adaptability and ease of deployment allow the same product to perform seamlessly across multiple verticals and use cases.

THEKER’s robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) approach removes traditional barriers to entry in the sector, enabling companies in logistics, retail, and waste management to access advanced task automation without requiring large upfront investments.

Thanks to its proprietary technology, THEKER is already working with global leaders such as Inditex, automating critical tasks in environments where traditional robotics has historically failed to deliver.

With the funds raised in this round, THEKER plans to accelerate its expansion, scale production capabilities, and grow its team, with the ambition of establishing Barcelona as a global hub for robotics.

The company currently operates from the Catalan capital with a highly specialized team and a culture rooted in excellence, long-term vision, and deep commitment.

“We’re building an entirely new category in robotics,” explains Carla Gómez Cano, co-founder of THEKER. “Our robots don’t just optimize processes — they adapt in real time and learn from their surroundings, making it possible to deploy them across sectors without the need for customisation. Automating the physical world should be as simple as launching an app.”

THEKER joins in as the fourth portfolio investment alongside Inditex. Previous investments include, Epoch (UK), an enzymatic recycler focused on nylon and polyester; Galy(USA), which is revolutionising cellular agriculture with lab-grown cotton, and Infinited Fiber (Finland), which transforms textile waste into high-value circular fibers.

This marks Mundi Ventures’ latest investment in next-generation industrial technology, building on a portfolio that includes leading companies in sustainability, deep tech, and automation.
